Garza, Wolverines Too Much for Tigers
The Michigan Wolverines easily defeated the Clemson Tigers, 16-4, at Magistrates Ballpark, with left fielder Alex Garza a main contributor to the win. He hit 2 home runs. He scored 3 runs and drove in 2 for Michigan. Nate Heady got the win, improving to 2-1. He held the Tigers to 2 earned runs on 5 hits over 5.1 innings, while striking out 4 and walking 3. Michigan occupies 16th place in the Ron Fraser Division at 19-20.

The game hit a turning point in the top of the second inning, when the Wolverines were trailing 1-0. Marcus Clayton delivered a two-out 3-run home run for Michigan, catapulting his team into the lead.

"We were the better team today. Maybe that won't be the case next game, but we'll enjoy it for now," Clayton told the Michigan Herald.
