López, Earthquakes Clobber Bombers
The San Francisco Earthquakes defeated the South Carolina Bombers, 10-1, in Thurman Munson League action at Golden Gate Park. Juan López received player of the game honors. The 8-year veteran slugged 2 home runs, while adding 4 RBI and scoring twice. António Medrano earned the save, his 1st. The win moves San Francisco to a record of 6-2.

López had a clutch at-bat in the bottom of the fourth for the Earthquakes. Coming up with runners on 2nd and 3rd and San Francisco trailing 1-0, he hit a 3-run home run.

"You can't sugarcoat this one," said South Carolina manager Randy Huggett. "We got flat-out beat."
