Sycamores Win Streak Now at 6
|
Indiana State left fielder Aaron Washington made his presence felt in the 5-1 Sycamores triumph over the Georgia Bulldogs. Washington was 2 for 4 with 2 home runs, while adding 3 RBI and scoring twice. Indiana State reliever Jason Roberts was the winner. His record is now 4-2. The losing pitcher was Joe Bilke. A.J. Porter nailed down his 1st save.
Indiana State took a 3-1 lead on Washington's 10th home run of the season. The 2-run home run, which he hit off Joe Bilke in the bottom of the sixth, propelled Indiana State to the win.
"First place," said Sycamores manager Ed Johnson. "This is right where we want to be."
The Sycamores, at 27-11, have now won 6 straight.
