Hornets Lose to Blazers, 3-1
|
The Bloomington Blazers picked up a win at The Nest, knocking off the Eureka Hornets, 3-1. Starting pitcher Rubén Cabrera played a key role in the triumph. Cabrera, now 6-5, was the winner. In 7.2 innings, he gave up 9 hits, while striking out 4, walking 1, and allowing 1 earned run. Toyotomi Nakano notched his 6th save in 7 chances.
It could have been a different outcome for Bloomington, had it not been for Jack Morris, the top prospect . Morris contributed a run-scoring single in the top of the third inning to put Bloomington up, 1-0.
"We'll grab a cold one tonight and go after another win tomorrow," Morris said.
Bloomington's record now stands at 38-34, placing them 4th in the Thurman Munson League Billy Martin Division.
