Golden Bears Take Down Wildcats, 8-1
|
California first baseman Kevin Reiss played a vital role in his team's 8-1 triumph over Arizona. He went 2 for 3 with 2 singles, a walk, and was hit by a pitch, while scoring 2 runs for California. Arizona's current losing streak has reached 4 games.
Brandon Russo had a productive trip to the plate with one out in the top of the fifth inning. With the bases loaded, he reached on catcher's interference, helping California to the win.
"I'm proud of the boys for pulling through," said Golden Bears manager Kenny James. "The wins don't come easy for this team, but everyone's got an extra jump in their step after a game like this."
