Gators Lose, 12-6, at Ballpark of Redwood College

The Virginia Cavaliers powered past the Florida Gators, 12-6, at Ballpark of Redwood College. Greg Wright went 3 for 5 with a home run and 2 singles, while scoring 2 runs and driving in 3, to lead the charge. Virginia is now 23-14, while Florida is 19-18.
A key at-bat in the game came in the bottom of the sixth inning when the Cavaliers sent teenager Jared Howard to the plate against Gators hurler Jim Daniels. With the bases loaded and a whole stadium watching, the kid controlled his nerves and delivered huge, hitting a double off a 1-2 fastball to score 3.
"It was offense that won us the game," said winning manager Larry Vaughn.
