Crimson Tide Suffer 7-4 Loss to Tigers
|
Alabama got a terrific performance from shortstop Brian Bednarski, but it wasn't enough to beat the Missouri Tigers. Missouri won the Ballpark of Ridge College contest, 7-4. Bednarski was the player of the game despite being on the losing side. He was 2-2 with a home run and 2 walks. Missouri reliever Drew Banks was the winner. His record is now 3-1. The losing pitcher was Chad Rubino. Picking up the save was Chris Van Arsdale, his 7th.
Missouri grabbed control in the bottom of the seventh. With no one out and the bases loaded, Joe Meek delivered a run-scoring single, to make it 5-4 in favor of the Tigers.
"The most important thing is that we won," Meek said.
The 21st-place Tigers improved to 14-22.
