Tar Heels Lose, 8-6, at Pit Vipers Ballpark
|
The Indiana State Sycamores defeated the North Carolina Tar Heels, 8-6, at Pit Vipers Ballpark today. Leading the charge for Indiana State was third baseman Dave Perkins. He was 4-4 with a double, 3 singles, and a walk. He scored 3 times. The first-place Sycamores now have a 4-game winning streak.
In the bottom of the fourth inning, Jon Kirkendall contributed a big hit for the Sycamores. With Indiana State leading 5-0, he hammered a 3-run home run.
"We maximized our offense today," said Indiana State skipper Ed Johnson. "That makes everyone's life easier."
