Razorbacks Win at Alabama, 2-0
|
Arkansas and Alabama took Mother Nature's best shot and still managed to complete their ballgame.
Jordan Raison never let the Crimson Tide get in a groove. The right-hander used his bread and butter, his change up, to pitch the Razorbacks to a 2-0 win. Raison, the winner, moves to 4-1. He threw 6.1 innings of 3-hit ball, while fanning 3 and giving up 2 walks.
A key at-bat in the game came in the top of the eighth inning when the Razorbacks sent teenager Juan Canales to the plate against Crimson Tide hurler Josh Vandall. With a runner on 3rd and a whole stadium watching, the kid controlled his nerves and delivered huge, hitting a single off a first pitch fastball to score 1.
"We didn't score," said losing manager Gene Beatty. "That was the problem."
The Razorbacks saw their win-loss record go to 19-16. At the same time, the Crimson Tide fell to 11-24.
