The South Carolina Gamecocks put together a convincing win at Scandals Ballpark, defeating the Vanderbilt Commodores, 11-1. Scott Herrin was one of the hitting stars. He was 3-4 with 2 home runs and a walk, while adding 3 RBI and scoring twice for South Carolina. Mike Anderson earned the win for South Carolina. Corey Blades brought the hometown crowd to its feet with two out in the bottom of the first. That's when the 19-year old first baseman belted a 2-run home run. With the round-tripper, the Gamecocks took the lead, 2-0.
