Dimon Leads Trojans to Win over Wildcats
USC designated hitter Greg Dimon had 3 ribbies while helping his team defeat the Arizona Wildcats, 9-6. USC reliever Rich Shear got the win, raising his record to 1-0. Dave Rombach was tagged with the loss. Chris Moran closed the game out for USC, earning his 8th save.

Nick McCarrick said the idea of hitting a home run barely crossed his mind when he came to bat in the top of the eighth. McCarrick belted a solo home run to stake USC to a 7-6 lead. His 8th home run of the season came off Arizona pitcher Dave Rombach.

"I hate to be the fly in the ointment," said Dimon, "but we could've played better."

The Trojans now have a record of 19-16.
