Buckley Goes Off, But Golden Eagles Win
Baylor right fielder Jared Buckley pounded South Mississippi Golden Eagles pitchers at Wolverines Stadium, but it was not enough to keep the Bears from falling, 11-6. Buckley slugged 2 home runs. He drove in 3 runs and scored twice. Earning his 1st save for South Mississippi was Tim Lavin. The 5th-place Golden Eagles now have a win-loss record of 21-13.

South Mississippi took a 9-6 lead on John Rose's 39th hit of the season. The 2-run single, which Rose hit in the top of the seventh, left Baylor pitcher Chad Flynn shaking his head.
