Sun Devils Suffer 5-3 Setback
|
The Mississippi State Bulldogs got a rain-soaked win over the Arizona State Sun Devils at Crowley College Grounds.
The Mississippi State Bulldogs topped the Arizona State Sun Devils by the score of 5-3, with the largest share of the credit going to first baseman Brian Wild. Wild was 3-5 with a home run and 2 singles. He drove in 3 runs and scored once for the Bulldogs. Reliever Shane Corley picked up the win. His record improves to 4-2. Bill Rankin took the loss. Picking up the save was Devonte Lebeaux, his 6th.
With Mississippi State leading 3-0 in the bottom of the fifth, Wild hit a fastball from Bryan Perry for a 2-run home run. It was his 4th home run of the season and put the Bulldogs ahead, 5-0.
"This was a good win," said Wild.
The Bulldogs, at 17-16, sit in 12th place in the Cliff Gustafson.
