Gardner Helps Horned Frogs Beat Trojans
|
TCU center fielder Brett Gardner played a vital role in his team's 10-6 triumph over USC. He was 4-5 with a double and 3 singles. He scored 4 runs for TCU. TCU, now 11-22, holds 21st place in the Cliff Gustafson.
One of the key players for the Horned Frogs was designated hitter Christian Brown, who drilled a run-scoring single in the bottom of the first inning. For the game, Brown went 2 for 3 with a triple and 2 walks, while adding 2 RBI and scoring once.
Horned Frogs manager Jim McCormick wasn't all too pleased, despite the win, telling reporters that the performance highlighted some clear areas for improvement moving forward. He refused to be more specific, however. "I'm not gonna publicize our weaknesses," he said. "That stuff stays in the clubhouse."
