In a well-pitched game between the Vancouver Pioneers and the Oklahoma City Prowlers, pitcher Marcus Clifton was fantastic. The Vancouver left-hander was named the player of the game in Vancouver's 2-1 win. Vancouver's record now stands at 39-32, placing them third in the Thurman Munson League Billy Martin Division.

Clifton, who has sometimes raised the ire of coaches and teammates with his famously lackadaisical work ethic, turned in a spirited effort. The hurler struck out 8 in 8 innings and gave up 1 earned run.

Clifton, who is tied for 10th in the TML in innings pitched with 105.1, moves to 7-5 on the year with 64 strikeouts.

"Some of the guys in here work hard, some of the guys just kind of fall out of bed and get it done. Whatever works I guess, we won this one," Clifton told the Vancouver Times.
