Bulldogs Defeat Hurricanes, 6-4
|
Fans who gathered at Gremlins Ballpark saw a good contest between the Georgia Bulldogs and Miami Hurricanes.
Miami got a terrific game from designated hitter Zach Davis. It wasn't enough, though, to prevent the team from falling to Georgia, 6-4. Davis was the player of the game despite being on the losing side. He was 2-4 with 2 home runs and a walk. He drove in 3 runs and scored twice. The win was John Humphrey's in relief. His record improves to 2-0. David Schimpf took the loss for Miami.
Georgia pinch hitter Steve Lange gave his club a productive at-bat in the top of the seventh inning. With the bases loaded and the Bulldogs leading 5-4, Lange hit a run-scoring single.
"We need to keep playing good baseball," Lange told the Georgia Citizen.
The losing streak for Miami has now reached 4 games.
