Djordjevic Shines in Cowboys Win
|
The Oklahoma State Cowboys eked out a 9-8 win versus the Michigan Wolverines at Siege Ballpark. Nobody did more than left fielder Doug Djordjevic, who captured player of the game honors. Curtis Wood, credited with the win, is now 1-1. He allowed no runs on no hits in 3 innings. Alvin Sheldon recorded the save for Oklahoma State, his 3rd of the season.
Shawn Hodges broke a 8-8 tie in the top of the eighth with a run-scoring walk. It put the Cowboys in front, 9-8. For the game, Hodges drew 1 walk.
"If you want to be considered a good team, these are the kind of games you have to win," said Oklahoma State manager Chris Dunn.
The Cowboys' win now puts them at 18-13.
