The North Carolina Tar Heels stymied the Tennessee Volunteers, 7-1, at Bruisers Ballpark. Justin Sikorsky, who had a good day at the plate, was named player of the game. He was 1-1 with a home run and 3 walks, while adding 2 RBI and scoring once for North Carolina. Mike Winter, the winner, improved to 6-0. He held the Volunteers to 1 earned run on 3 hits over 5.2 innings, while striking out 4 and walking 4. Billy Still locked down his 1st save.

Jason Leadbeater provided some punch for the Tar Heels. In the bottom of the fourth, with a runner on 2nd and North Carolina trailing 1-0, he lit into a slider from Jaiden Shepard, sending it out of the park. The 2-run homer put the Tar Heels up, 2-1.

"We looked pretty good up and down," said North Carolina manager William Wilson.
