Tigers Outmuscle Arkansas, 13-8
|
The Missouri Tigers topped the Arkansas Razorbacks, 13-8, with youngster Paul Carter playing a key role. Carter was 1 for 3 with a home run and 2 walks, while scoring 2 times and driving in 2 for the Tigers in the win. The 20th-place Tigers now have a win-loss record of 12-19.
Doing his part for Missouri was shortstop Joe Meek, who stroked a bases-clearing double in the bottom of the second. For the game, Meek went 2 for 5 with a double, while scoring 2 runs and driving in 3.
Tigers manager Jeffrey Coffman wasn't all too pleased, despite the win, telling reporters that the performance highlighted some clear areas for improvement moving forward. He refused to be more specific, however. "I'm not gonna publicize our weaknesses," he said. "That stuff stays in the clubhouse."
