The Fresno State Bulldogs defeated the Rice Owls, 7-2, at Toughkenamon College Fields today. Leading the charge for Fresno State was right fielder Bobby Wilson. He was 3-5 with a home run and 2 doubles. He scored 3 times and drove in 2. Fresno State is now 22-7, 2½ games up in the Cliff Gustafson.
Wilson came through for Fresno State with a run-scoring double in the top of the first. He hit a 2-0 cutter to left-center field, staking his team to a 1-0 lead.
"I play this game for myself and my family, but of course it's always nice when we can win," said Wilson.
