Golden Bears Suffer 9-5 Loss to Longhorns
The Texas Longhorns topped the California Golden Bears, 9-5, with catcher Joey Patterson playing a big role. Patterson was 1-3 with a home run and a walk. He drove in 3 runs and scored once for the Longhorns in the win. Texas reliever Chris Remy picked up the win, upping his record to 4-0. Josh Moss took the loss. California has now lost 4 in a row.

Patterson contributed a big hit, a 3-run home run, for Texas in the bottom of the first. With his team trailing 3-1, Patterson took a fastball from Josh Moss and stroked the home run to right-center. His 4th home run of the season allowed the Longhorns to leap in front, 4-3.

Patterson called the triumph "a good team win."
