Green Wave Cut Down Ragin Cajuns, 8-5
|
The Tulane Green Wave downed the Louisiana-Layfayette Ragin Cajuns, 8-5, at Berthoud College Grounds. The Green Wave were led by Danny Janes, who captured player of the game honors. He went 3 for 4 with a double and 2 singles. He scored 2 times and drove in 2. Justin Herbert got credit for the win, improving to 1-2. He allowed 2 runs on 5 hits in 5.1 innings. Tulane, now 8-20, holds 23rd place in the Cliff Gustafson.
Flexing his muscles for Tulane was Mike Stacy. The first baseman had a 2-run home run in the bottom of the fourth for the Green Wave. It put his team ahead, 2-0, and sent them on to victory. For the game, Stacy went 1-5 with a home run. He drove in 2 runs and scored once.
"Nice to get this one," said Stacy. "Wins have been hard to come by."
