The Vanderbilt Commodores got production from their entire lineup in an easy 13-2 win over the Clemson Tigers. Player of the game honors went to right fielder Jason Valentine. Valentine, who is the 3rd-best prospect in the Commodores organization, belted 2 home runs, while scoring 3 times and driving in 4. The 'W' lifts Vanderbilt's record to 16-12.

Valentine had an important at-bat with runners on 2nd and 3rd in the top of the fifth, when he hit a 3-run home run. The Commodores went on to win.

"You can't sugarcoat this one," said Clemson manager Júlio Santana. "We got flat-out beat."
