Rebels Jolt Cardinals with Late Rally
|
The Ole Miss Rebels outlasted Gary Harrison and the Stanford Cardinals, 8-6. Harrison was impressive in the loss. The Stanford pitcher threw 6 innings of 4-hit ball. Reliever Tony Campos picked up the win. His record improves to 2-0. John Vigen took the loss. Picking up the save was Elijah Cooke, his 6th.
Ole Miss first baseman John Gilliam changed the complexion of the game in the top of the eighth inning. That's when he belted a grand slam home run off John Vigen. His 1st home run of the season put Ole Miss in front, 8-5.
"There are times you get yourself out and there are times you come through," Gilliam said. "That's how it goes."
At 13-14, Ole Miss is in 13th place in the Cliff Gustafson.
