49'ers Mow Down Aggies, 12-3
|
It was a fun time at Ballpark of Macclenny College, where the Texas A&M Aggies and Long Beach State 49'ers tangled.
The Long Beach State 49'ers met little resistance from the Texas A&M Aggies, beating them 12-3 at Ballpark of Macclenny College. Keith Whitsitt led the way. He went 3-4 with a double, 2 singles, and a walk, while adding 4 RBI for Long Beach State. Matt Connors picked up the win, improving his season record to 1-3. He struck out 7 in 6 innings. Dan Martinez finished to wrap up his 3rd save.
Long Beach State first baseman Chase Hoene contributed to the cause with a run-scoring double in the bottom of the first. For the game, Hoene went 2 for 5 with a home run and a double, while scoring 2 runs and driving in 2.
"I've been criticized for being a slacker, but the one thing I do care about is winning," Hoene told the Long Beach State Times.
The third-place 49'ers have won 4 straight games.
