Bulldogs Come Up Short at LSU
|
The LSU Tigers did just enough to secure a 3-2 victory over the Fresno State Bulldogs at South Paris College Grounds. Nobody did more than pitcher Blake Orlando, who captured player of the game honors. The Tigers now have a record of 15-11.
Brooklyn, New York-born Troy Herring came through in the clutch. In the bottom of the fifth, with a runner on 1st and the Tigers trailing 2-1, he hit a 2-run home run to right to put LSU on top.
"At the end of the day, it's always about your starting pitcher," said LSU skipper Thomas Hall.
