Big Day by Silberman Sparks Seminoles Win
|
The Florida State Seminoles blasted the South Illinois Salukis, 14-4. Darrin Silberman was one of the hitting stars. He went 3 for 5 with a home run and 2 singles, while scoring 3 runs and driving in 3 for Florida State. Andy Wright picked up the win with 5 innings of work. He allowed 4 earned runs on 6 hits, while walking 3 and striking out 5. On the season, he is now 1-1. With the win, Florida State has a record of 12-14. South Illinois falls to 10-16.
Silberman contributed a big hit, a 2-run single, for Florida State in the top of the third. With his team trailing 4-3, Silberman took a fastball from Cory Dorsey and stroked the single to left. His 21st hit of the season allowed the Seminoles to leap in front, 5-4.
