Big Day for Barker: Swats 5 Hits
|
Art Barker exploded for a barrage of base hits today at Cypress Quarters College Grounds. The Michigan right fielder had a field day against the Wake Forest Demon Deacans, finishing with a 5-for-5 day, even as his club took the loss, 11-6.
"It's a shame that we lost the game," he said later. "It's really hard to enjoy what I did today. You would think 5 hits would do it."
Art Barker singled in the 1st, singled in the 3rd, singled in the 5th, hit a solo-shot off Mike Egan in the 7th and singled in the 9th.
Thus far this season in 26 games Barker is batting .304 with 10 home runs, 28 RBIs and 16 runs scored. He has 31 hits in 102 at-bats.
