Forney College Grounds was the site of a remarkable pitchers' duel.

Florida State starter Neil Vandermark had a strong outing against the Iowa State Cyclones at Forney College Grounds. The right-hander was a big part of his team's 2-1 win. The win was credited to Josh Lehman in relief. His record improves to 1-0. Jeremiah Fletcher took the loss.

Had Gene Moffat not delivered a key base hit in the top of the eighth, the outcome might have been different. Instead, with two down and the bases loaded, Moffat hit a run-scoring single. That made the score 2-1, in favor of the Seminoles.

"It was a solid team effort," said Moffat after the game.

Their 11-14 record puts the Seminoles 17th in the Ron Fraser Division.
