Hurricanes Get Past Kansas for 2-1 Win
Kansas wasted a solid 5.1-inning effort from starting pitcher Travis Thomason, losing to Miami, 2-1, at Gremlins Ballpark. Steve Huval, credited with the win, is now 2-0. He allowed no runs on no hits in 1.1 innings. Miami has an impressive 16-8 record.

Miami took a 2-1 lead in the bottom of the eighth inning. With one out, left fielder Ryan Castro hit a solo home run that aroused the crowd.

"We faced good pitching and still got it done," said Castro.
