Volunteers Come Up Short at South Carolina
|
The South Carolina Gamecocks got a strong performance from pitcher Curtis Simpson, who stymied the Tennessee offense en route to a 3-2 win at Scandals Ballpark. Chris Terry recorded his 4th save for South Carolina. The Gamecocks improved to 11-12.
A key at-bat came in the bottom of the third inning. With runners on 1st and 3rd, the batter, Corey Blades, grounded out, driving in 1 run. It made the score 3-2, South Carolina, and helped them go on to win.
"We put some tough at-bats on some tough pitches," said South Carolina manager Orlando Torres.
