Buckeyes Get One-Run Win at Georgia Tech
|
Tommy Buford had a good game, but he could not keep the Georgia Tech Yellow Jackets from falling, 5-4, to the Ohio State Buckeyes at Castles Ballpark. The Georgia Tech right fielder was 1-3 with a home run and a walk. He drove in 2 runs and scored once in the loss. The winner was Matt Belcher in relief. His record improves to 3-1. Angel Anaya took the loss. The Yellow Jackets, at 10-13, have lost 5 straight games.
The Buckeyes got a lift from catcher Joe Ezell who had a run-scoring sacrifice fly in the top of the seventh inning off Josh Neuhaus. It was his 7th RBI of the season and put Ohio State in front, 5-4.
"Everyone's trying too hard," said losing manager Reese Mitchell. "If we learn to relax, we'll be fine."
