Tar Heels Hang 6-2 Loss on Cowboys
|
Riding the 2-hit performance of the 19-year old right fielder Omar Veliz, the North Carolina Tar Heels stopped the Oklahoma State Cowboys, 6-2. The winner was Mike Winter, who threw 84 pitches over 5.1 innings. The right-hander was charged with no runs on 5 hits. North Carolina goes to 12-10, Oklahoma State to 13-9.
Veliz had a big at-bat with the bases loaded in the bottom of the third inning, when he hit a grand slam. The Tar Heels went on to win.
"I give credit to my teammates for this win. We got it done," Veliz told the North Carolina News.
