Vanderbilt left-hander John Gayden helped his team edge Missouri by the score of 3-2. Gayden kept the opposing lineup in check. Vanderbilt reliever Steve Higgins was credited with the win, to go to 2-0. Bryan Jackowitz took the loss for Missouri. With the win, Vanderbilt goes to 13-9, while the Tigers fall to 6-16.
James Epperson provided some late-game drama. In the bottom of the 14th, with two out and the bases loaded, Epperson hit a run-scoring single. It helped Vanderbilt take the lead and grab the win.
