The Fresno State Bulldogs turned back the South Mississippi Golden Eagles, 6-5, at Ballpark of Storm Lake College. Bobby Douberly was named player of the game for his fine performance. He hit 2 home runs. The first-place Bulldogs have a one-game lead in their division.

Jimmy Landry contributed a productive at-bat in the top of the sixth. With the bases loaded, he drew a walk, driving in 1 run. It was one at-bat that propelled Fresno State to the win.
