The Ohio State Buckeyes got a stellar effort from pitcher Joel Rubsam, helping Ohio State score a 6-2 win over the visiting Georgia Bulldogs. Ohio State reliever Austin Burge picked up the win to move to 1-0. Dan Hodge suffered the loss. Ohio State is now 12-9.
Jim Dillon was 1-3 for Ohio State. The 19-year old center fielder had a key at-bat in the bottom of the seventh. With one out and runners on 1st and 3rd, he broke a 2-2 tie with a run-scoring sacrifice fly off Chris Elder. It was his 8th RBI of the season.
"We'll relax tonight and enjoy this win," said Rubsam.
