Travis Willems had a good game, but he could not keep the South Illinois Salukis from falling, 6-5, to the Auburn Tigers at Zodiac Ballpark. The South Illinois right fielder went 2-3 with 2 home runs and a walk in the loss. The winner was Tyler Sandlin, who threw 81 pitches over 5.2 innings. The right-hander was charged with 2 runs on 4 hits. Auburn has an impressive 14-7 record.

The Tigers beat the Salukis with some clutch hitting. The triple by Zach Clarkson in the bottom of the first is a good example. With two down, Clarkson gave his team the lead, 2-0, when he came through with the big hit.
