A 3-RBI performance from Matt Cecil, who is tied for 3rd in the SBL in stolen bases with 6, helped the Wake Forest Demon Deacans beat the Georgia Tech Yellow Jackets, 8-5. Wake Forest reliever David Shaffer picked up the win, bumping his record to 1-2. Jim Unknown was collared with the loss. Jim Unknown recorded his 1st save for Wake Forest.

Josh Moody changed the game with one swing of the bat. With two out in the top of the ninth, the Wake Forest pinch hitter hammered a 2-run home run off Jim Unknown. It was his 1st home run of the season. With it, Wake Forest took the lead, 7-5.

When asked about his performance after the game, Moody said: "Like everyone else, I'm just doing my job."
