Bennett Gallimore was superb against Mississippi State. The right-hander had a fastball that was virtually unhittable at times. The result was a 6-3 Bears victory. The Bears improved to 8-12.

John Rollins aided the Baylor cause with a 2-run single in the top of the seventh. For the game, the catcher was 2-4 with 2 singles and a walk, while adding 3 RBI.

"Bennett's tempo and rhythm were good," said Bears manager Carlos Garza. "He was the key to us winning."
