Trojans Fall to .500 After Loss to Cougars
|
Jim Shelby was superb against USC. The left-hander, who is rated as the 43rd best prospect by BNN, had a sinker that was virtually unhittable at times. The result was a 6-1 Cougars victory. The Trojans, at 10-10, have lost 4 in a row.
J.J. Neely went 1-3 with a hit by pitch, while adding 3 RBI for Houston. In a tie game with two out in the bottom of the sixth, Neely came through with a run-scoring hit-by-pitch. It put the Cougars in front, 2-1.
Neely called the win the result of "everyone being in sync."
