Gamecocks Fall Short, 6-5, at Wake Forest
The Wake Forest Demon Deacans topped the South Carolina Gamecocks, 6-5, in Skip Bertman League action at Cypress Quarters College Grounds. The player of the game was Wake Forest pitcher and Ft. Pierce South, Florida native Justin Hill. The Demon Deacans saw their win-loss record go to 11-7. At the same time, the Gamecocks fell to 9-9.

Trailing 1-0, Wake Forest had a change of fortune in the bottom of the second inning. That's when Kevin Pietrzak sent a first pitch cutter into the stands for a 2-run home run. The longball put the Demon Deacans on top, 2-1.

"They played a better game than we did," said South Carolina skipper Orlando Torres.
