|
The Long Beach State 49'ers scored a 4-3 win versus the Oregon State Beavers at Ballpark of Macclenny College. Long Beach State catcher Bill Beasley nabbed top player honors in the tight contest. David Guyer picked up the win in relief, improving his record to 3-0. Jim Unknown was tagged with the loss. The 49'ers, now 12-6, have won 5 in a row.
The game ended with a bang. In the bottom of the ninth, with Long Beach State trailing 3-2, Tim Mitchell jumped on a 1-0 curveball from Jim Unknown for a 2-run home run, sending the 49'ers to a walk-off win.
"We're feeling good in this clubhouse right now after that one," Mitchell told the Long Beach State Times.
