Big Day for Valentine as Commodores Down Buckeyes, 6-2
The Vanderbilt Commodores beat the Ohio State Buckeyes, 6-2, at Ballpark of Bloomfield College. The Commodores got a fine performance from right fielder Jason Valentine, who captured player of the game honors. He went 3-4 with a home run and a double, while scoring 2 times and driving in 4. The Commodores raised their record to 10-7.

Flexing his muscles for Vanderbilt was the aforementioned Valentine. The right fielder had a 3-run home run in the top of the first for the Commodores. It put his team ahead, 3-0, and sent them on to victory.

"Enjoyed this one," Valentine told the Vanderbilt Chronicle. "But it's back to work tomorrow."
