Sun Devils Need Extra Frames to Get Past Trojans
|
The Arizona State Sun Devils downed the USC Trojans, 5-3, in 10 innings. Brent Driggs led the way, going 1-for-3 for Arizona State. Arizona State bumps their record to 10-7 with the win.
Arizona State third baseman Shawn Jackson said he was just trying to make contact when he came to bat with a runner on 1st in the top of the tenth. He did more than that -- Jackson hit a 2-run home run to stake Arizona State to a 5-3 lead. His 4th home run of the season came off USC pitcher Chris Moran.
"Tough ballgame, tough loss," said USC manager Tommy Hayes.
