The California Golden Bears got a good effort from starter Josh Moss in defeating the Fresno State Bulldogs at Brooks College Grounds. The final score was 5-2. Moss picked up the win for California, going 5 innings. He gave up 2 runs on 5 hits. He now sports a record of 2-2. Jim Unknown got the save, the 1st for him this season.

The Golden Bears used some clutch hitting to beat the Bulldogs, a good example being the at-bat of Roger Alba in the top of the first. With two down, Alba gave his team the lead, 2-0, when he hit a 2-run double.

"Nice to get this one," said Alba. "Wins have been hard to come by."

California now sits in last place in the Cliff Gustafson at 4-13.
