Rebels Mow Down Aggies, 10-3
|
Ole Miss center fielder Shane Orgain made his presence felt in the 10-3 Rebels triumph over the Texas A&M Aggies. Orgain was 3 for 4 with 3 singles and a walk. He scored 3 runs. Ole Miss reliever Tony Campos picked up the win, bumping his record to 1-0. Austin Ference was collared with the loss. The 16th-place Rebels are now 7-9, the Aggies 7-9.
A key at-bat in the game came in the top of the seventh inning when the Rebels sent teenager Andrew Istre to the plate against Aggies hurler Austin Ference. With runners on 2nd and 3rd and a whole stadium watching, the kid controlled his nerves and delivered huge, hitting a single off a 1-0 slider to score 2.
"Baseball is about momentum," said Orgain, "and we feel we've got it in our favor after that win."
