Butterfield, Bulldogs Clobber Trojans

The Fresno State Bulldogs used an offensive barrage to beat the USC Trojans, 10-2, at Nesquehoning College Fields. Adam Butterfield led the way, going 2-for-3 for Fresno State. Fresno State starter Jeff Shue was credited with the win after throwing 80 pitches over 6 innings. His record now stands at 2-0. Travis Zastrow recorded his 1st save for Fresno State.
Late-game drama came in the top of the ninth inning. With two out and the bases loaded, the batter, Adam Butterfield, hit a grand slam. It helped Fresno State seize the win.
"We feel like we're going to win every game right now," said Fresno State skipper Xavier Chávez.
The winning streak has now reached 9 games for Fresno State.
