Big Day by Strickland Sparks Commodores Win
The Vanderbilt Commodores eked out a 10-9 win versus the North Carolina Tar Heels at Ballpark of Barrow College. Nobody did more than designated hitter Matt Strickland, who captured player of the game honors. The Commodores are now 8-6, while the Tar Heels fall to 6-8.

Vanderbilt took the lead in the bottom of the seventh. With two out and runners on 1st and 3rd, Marty Ricker stroked a 2-run triple to make it 10-8, Commodores.

"Ugly win or not, we'll take it," said Strickland.
