Tienken Dominant in Cowboys Victory
|
The rain could not dampen the enthusiasm of Oklahoma State fans at Canaries Ballpark.
Pitcher David Tienken was sensational for the Oklahoma State Cowboys in his team's 5-1 triumph over the Tennessee Volunteers. Tienken received player of the game honors, while picking up the win. The Cowboys now have a mark of 8-6.
The standout performance belonged to 19-year-old Tienken. With his baby face, he looked more like someone starting for a high school team than for the Cowboys. His performance, however, was nothing short of top-notch. The youngster dominated the Volunteers, striking out 8 and scattering 2 hits over 7 innings. Tienken is now 1-1 on the season.
"Whenever we hold the other team to one run," said Cowboys manager Chris Dunn, "I like our chances."
