Wolverines Best Crimson Tide in Pitching Duel
|
The Michigan Wolverines got a magnificent effort from pitcher Evan Thomas, who kept Alabama hitters in check en route to a 2-1 Wolverines win at Siege Ballpark. The winning pitcher was Thomas, now 1-1. He tossed 6.1 innings of 3-hit ball, while walking 1 and fanning 4. Earning his 5th save of the year was James Arnold.
With two out in the bottom of the sixth, Art Barker lit into a curveball from Cole Orgera for a 2-run home run. That made the score 2-0 in favor of the Wolverines. For the day, Barker went 1 for 3 with a home run and a walk, while adding 2 RBI and scoring once.
"I had a good game," said Barker. "Winning makes it even better."
With the victory, the Wolverines record now stands at 6-8.
